Mt. Hood

After Multnomah Falls we kept driving up to Mt. Hood, and that drive was the best! You just keeping driving up and up and your ears are popping and you can feel your self getting sleepy. I've been to the Rocky Mountains before, but I was young and bickering with siblings and this was just such a fun experience with some great co-workers. Maybe I'll come back in the winter so I can finally ski!

We're not too far!

It was cold-The snow was dirty where we were standing, but the further up the prettier!
Beautiful!

almost there!
We stopped here for some snacks and this was about 45 minutes away!

Multnomah Falls

Our last day of the conference was a half day ending at noon. We didn't fly out till the following morning so we rented a car and drove the scenic route to Multnomah Falls and Mt. Hood. It was breathtaking. I've never really seen water falls up close and personal, so I was in awe. It was huge and the sound was so calming. I wish my family could have seen it, and after seeing the pictures I think I can convince them to return with me.

Love it!

There are all sorts of creatures around here-I even saw a mole!
It's well over a mile high-straight up!
We made it up to that bridge behind me-that was hard enough!

Portland, Oregon

I traveled to Portland, Oregon two weeks ago for a work conference. I had never been to Oregon, and it was beautiful! There are pine trees galore, hills, mountains, waterfalls, and amazing views of the city and it's surrounding areas. We visited the Rose Garden, walked the streets of down town, got lost on public transit, and woke up to 53 degrees in July, and no humidity! It was fabulous-the only downside was that I was gone a few too many nights for my liking. I was dying to get home by Friday! I will be back to Portland for a family vacation some day-it was gorgeous!

Rose Garden

One of the amazing views from a restaurant called The Portland City Grill. It is on the 30th floor of a bank in down town, and the happy hour food and prices are awesome. Minimum one drink, but it's happy hour so how hard can that be? It was a fun place to eat and enjoy the view!

The roses in the Rose Garden were amazing!

I love this color!

I'd never seen plum colored roses before!

Just like Austin-no wonder I liked it so much:)

We went to the Voodoo Doughnut-it was on the Food network, and it has some super yummy doughnuts! I had the Portland Cream and The Maple Bacon Bar. They were delicious! I love their slogan too!

Cancun/Tulum

We just got home from a 3 night/4 day trip to the Mayan Riviera-Cancun and Tulum. We had such a great time. We traveled with my folks and stayed 2 rooms down from each other. We went to an all-inclusive resort called the Ocean Coral/Ocean Turquesa by H10 Hotels in Puerto Morelos. It was beautiful and huge! It had 3 pools (including a kid pool), 5 restaurants, a buffet, a coffee shop, a spa, plenty of bars, and a theatre. We got it all for a great price too! The beach was not as aqua as the water in downtown Cancun or Tulum, but it was still amazing! Jesse and I took a day trip to Tulum to tour the ancient Mayan Ruins-they are spectacular, and the beach there is breathtaking-I could have stayed in that water all day! We may have to retire somewhere in Tulum! We will be back as soon as we can!
